Walcot Hall

Walcot Hall is a Georgian country house steeped in history. The building alone makes for one of the most unusual wedding venues in Shropshire, however, Walcot Hall is also a family home. Its business is not exclusively weddings, but it is no surprise that it ranks as one of England’s top wedding venues. The Hall is a grand and historic house; we guarantee you will love the eclectic furnishings and rustic romance of the rambling estate, as well as the mass of curiosities that will certainly get your guests talking.
With no less than 15 self-catering holiday cottages and 10 glamping ‘hidden treasures’ dotted around the estate, Walcot certainly has a lot to offer. The holiday cottages vary from the traditional to the unique; a tin Chapel tucked away in the arboretum, yurts, shepherds huts and more. Take leisurely strolls through the arboretum, marvel at the ancient and statuesque trees, book a hack with the local riding stables. The Shropshire Hills are close by and yours to discover. At Walcot Hall we are lucky enough to have our own onsite village pub, The Powis Arms, right by the front gates! Be sure to take a look at their seasonal menus and current selection of local ales.

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
