LOVE OSWESTRY WINTER FESTIVAL: A SPECTACULAR CELEBRATION OF ARTS AND CULTURE

Oswestry is set to come alive again this February with the return of the Love Oswestry Winter Festival of Arts and Culture, a week-long celebration running from 17th to 22nd February 2025. Now in its 4th year, this much-loved festival promises to be bigger, brighter, and more exciting than ever. Last year, over 3,000 people joined the festivities, and this year’s event is hoping to break records with an even more diverse and engaging programme. From Monday 17th February to Friday 21st February, participants of all ages can dive into an inspiring range of free and pre-bookable creative workshops whether you’re an aspiring artist, a budding writer, or just looking for a fun activity with the family, there is something for everyone.

 

Young people can explore their creative and acting talents at Drama Mask and Puppet workshops and families can enjoy hands-on fun at the Family Clay Play.Photography enthusiasts will relish the opportunity to join Rob Kirman, the Love Oswestry Villages Project artist, for a one-hour street photography workshop capturing the heart and soul of Oswestry. Nature lovers can explore the sensory delights of the OsNosh Garden, engaging all their senses as they connect with the environment, listening to the mud, touching the air, and smelling the trees.

The festival culminates in a day-long celebration on Saturday 22nd February, with music, tours, and interactive activities all across Oswestry, topped off by the spectacular lantern parade Grand Finale. The Lantern Parade will feature a host of magical street performers including the enchanting Snow Queen stilt walker, the mesmerising Bubble Fairies, and the spectacular Fire Breatherplus exciting, new performances for 2025.

Leading up to the festival, families can take part in lantern-making workshops on selected dates in January and February, ensuring the night sky will light up with their handmade creations. Other exciting activities on Saturday 22nd February include a screen-printing workshop at Designs in Mind and jewellery crafting at The Factory’s pendant-making session.

Teens can express themselves in creative writing sessions at Oswestry Library or you can make some noise with our family friendly drumming workshops. History and culture enthusiasts will enjoy a guided tour across town, starting at the Market Hall and visitors stopping by the Memorial Hall for the Love Oswestry Villages Project creative workshops will leave with the added of a custom goody tote bag.
