The Shropshire Distillery has launched a Christmas party offering where guests can make their own gin as well as drink it.

The award-winning distillery launched a gin school at their base in Ellesmere earlier this year. Husband and wife team, Gareth and Emma Glynn, are now offering the gin school experience to anyone looking for an alternative Christmas party.

Emma, one of the UK’s few female Distillers, leads the gin school experience and distillery tours. She said, “After the restrictions last Christmas, we’re all looking to do and experience more. Our gin school offers something really unique that will break the ice at any party, as well as being intimate, with social distancing still possible.

“The gin school and tours have proved really popular, with lots of visitors from further afield using it as a reason to visit the county.

“I love showing people how we expertly handcraft our classic, honest spirits. Our distillery tours give lovers of gin an exclusive look at the hard work that goes in to producing small batches of quality gin and the gin school provides a fun hands-on experience.

“The gin school and distillery tours can also be purchased as gift vouchers. There are no other gin school experiences like this in the county, so what more could the gin obsessed loved one in your life want this Christmas? There will be plenty of opportunities to sample our delicious gins as well!”

The gin school experience includes a distillery tour plus talks on the history of gin and a guide to using botanicals. Participants can then create their own bespoke gin using a mini copper still and botanicals of their choosing. They can take their own wax sealed bottle home with them, and keep their recipe on file to order again at a later date.

Emma continues, “For those looking for ready-made, quality gin, we have two limited edition Christmas gins – Cranberry and Clementine Gin and Frankincense and Myrrh Gin, both of which can be ordered from the website in time for Christmas. We want you to have a drink on us, so we will be giving away a free 5cl miniature gin with every 70cl purchase – our gift to you!”

Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
