The Bulls Head Inn at Chelmarsh

The Bull’s Head is a traditional family owned 18th century (circa 1730) Inn,  four miles south of historic Bridgnorth, set amidst Shropshire’s rolling hills, with stunning views over the Severn Valley, Clee Hills & Chelmarsh Reservoir. The Inn has many original features such as exposed beams and stone walls in the Bar areas, where a good range of Cask Ales, Lagers, Ciders and an extensive Wine List are available all year round from 12.00 noon.

The Inn offers a combination of well appointed guestrooms and self-catering accommodation in the main building and also around the Garden area, including ground floor facilities specially equipped for the disabled or those who may have limited mobility. We have a high rate of return visitors for touring, fishing, walking & cycling holidays and corporate guests who take the opportunity to relax and enjoy this picturesque location.

We have seven self-catering cottages & apartments, ranging from a studio apartment to three & four bedroom cottages, fully equipped kitchens, with dishwasher and washing machines. Bed linen and towels, heating and lighting are all included in our prices.

An excellent variety of fresh food is prepared and served by our fully trained Kitchen Team and our Menu is offered for Lunch between 12.00 noon until 2.30pm and in the evenings from 6.00pm to 9.00pm, Saturday we serve throughout the day from 12.00noon to 9.00pm. On Sunday we offer traditional roasts between 12.00 noon and 4.30pm, and we also offer seasonal ‘Specials’ throughout the week to compliment our normal Menu.

The Bull’s Head is set in the small village of Chelmarsh and is an ideal base for exploring all of the many local attractions including Ironbridge and its Blists Hill Museum, Severn Valley Steam Railway, Ludlow, West Midlands Safari Park, RAF Cosford Museum, Black Country Museum, Bewdley and many others in the increasingly popular counties of Shropshire and neighbouring Worcestershire.

There are several attractive golf courses in the nearby area, fishing on the nearby River Severn and many other well stocked local private pools. We also have Chelmarsh Sailing Club situated on the nearby Chelmarsh Reservoir.

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
