Black Lion Barn

Completely renovated in 2020, and concealed on a peaceful country lane, this detached country barn has striking black timber cladding and views of the Shropshire hills. It’s perfect for families and groups of up to 12 people looking to get away together.

Make your way inside, feeling the warmth of the luxurious underfloor heating, in the large activity room next to a handy utility where you’ll find a washing machine, plenty of storage and a fridge.  This room boasts an abundance of floor space, a 55” picture frame TV with Sonos speaker, and table football as well as bean bag chairs.  It also doubles up as a tranquil yoga studio in the day time with the chance to book in professional classes with the owner.

The ground-floor is home to three bedrooms, one super-king-size, one king and one twin, all decorated to a high hotel standard. Use the glorious walk-in shower room for a refreshing morning rinse, a sleek room with a toasty heated towel rail.

There are three further bedrooms on the first-floor, two super-king bedrooms and one king size bedroom benefiting from its own en-suite shower room, whilst the rest of the bedrooms can utilise either a contemporary bathroom, or another shower room.

Any of the beds on either floor can be changed to a twin via zip/link if preferred on request.

Spend the rest of your time in the magnificent open-plan living space, comprising of a kitchen, dining area and large sitting area with a wall mounted television complete with speakers in the roof, if you can take your eyes off the stunning views through the floor to ceiling windows on the gable end!

The kitchen is decorated with bright fixtures, fitted with state-of-the-art amenities including an electric hob, oven, fridge/freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and a dishwasher.

After a delicious home-cooked meal has been prepared, set the dining table that seats 12 (plus room for high chairs that are available on request), where you and all your fellow guests can spend an evening catching up over dinner and a glass of wine.  If you fancy spoiling yourselves, speak to us about arranging lasagne’s, casseroles or even fine dining being delivered to your door!

Rainy Sunday afternoons can be enjoyed in the sitting area, an airy space with large window views out to the surrounding farm and countryside fields, snuggle up on the large corner sofa, deciding on a film for the evening whilst the wood-burning stove creates a welcoming ambiance.

Also included within the barn is your own private outdoor seating area, a large patio filled with plush chairs, and a barbecue for alfresco meals and drinks in the summer.   There is also free fibre broadband wi-fi included throughout the barn.

With views of far-reaching fields and winding country lanes, this property couldn’t be in a more idyllic spot.  There are great country pubs within walking distance away when you fancy an evening meal out, with an abundance of walking, cycling and horse riding trails around the surrounding rural areas as well.

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
