The Swan Hotel stands proud on Eccleshall road just 4 minutes from Newport town center. The Swan is a beautiful Georgian building which has undergone restoration in the Summer of 2020 with the hotel accommodation being fully refurbished in 2021. Our selection of en-suite rooms are prefect for weddings, events, a treat whilst travelling for business or a weekend away with the family.

Upon arrival at the Swan by car, you will enter the from the large car park into the bar which is adorned with reclaimed panelling and two large fireplaces. The perfect place to while away an afternoon. If you are looking to dine the Swan has some beautiful rooms for you to choose from, the Sunroom or Dining room is perfect for a classic pub catch up, where we pride ourselves in locally sourced fresh food, and of course, local ales brewed just 11 miles away at the Brewery in Market Drayton.

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
