Ceramic Green Man Workshop

Sun 29 September 2024 Ceramic Green Man Workshop

Did you know The Green Man is an ancient symbol of growth and rebirth which takes on many forms across different cultures?

In this workshop you’ll have an opportunity to make your own Green Man from clay, drawing inspiration from different cultural depictions of this traditional figure. Once fired, your Green Man will be suitable for outdoor use.

This symbol has appeared in various forms over the centuries. At Coalport China Museum you can see a Green Man on the spout of some Caughley jugs, and some plate borders which display a classically Roman take on this symbol of nature.

Our team of talented demonstrators are on hand throughout this workshop to guide and inspire your design.

Timings: From 11am until 3pm

Date: Sunday 29 September, 2024

Location: The Studio, Coalport China Museum

This workshop is £60 per person, with a maximum of 10 people per session. All materials provided.

This workshop is suitable for those aged 12+. Please wear suitable clothing (clay is involved so you could get messy!) and closed toe shoes.

Your Green Man will be fired and available for collection within 4 weeks. Postage can be arranged for an additional cost.

Please advise us of any mobility or access requirements in advance.
