Shrewsbury’s civic church will be hosting the first of what is hoped to be many annual Christmas Fairs on Saturday 11th December between 2pm and 4pm with a variety of gifts and present ideas for all the family. Father Christmas will arrive at 2pm with small gifts for children. Organised by Jane Peate a member of the Friends of St. Chads on behalf of the church, admission is free and details are available from her on 07999 584291. Email [email protected]
Nick Paterson, also a Friends of St. Chads said: “We welcome any help you are able to give by way of donating items towards the Christmas Fair and coming along on the day to enjoy the event”.
Donations of home baking to be sold as part of our Afternoon Tea offering in the Parish Hall (mince pies and Christmas cake) or on the home baking stall; books to bottles, festive wreaths, toys and arts & crafts items. Ladies accessories including handbags, scarfs, gloves and belts are also welcome, together with general raffle prizes. Collections can be arranged within the immediate Shrewsbury area by contacting Jane. Otherwise, these can be left at the Parish Office, 1 St Chad’s Terrace during office hours. The event will raise funds in aid of the running of this iconic church so any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
There will be guided tours of this historical building during the afternoon. Afternoon Tea will be served in the Parish Hall (adjacent to St Chad’s) from 2pm to 4pm. ‘Brass Buttons’, a local brass quartet, will be playing on the day to delight visitors”.
Parking in the church’s car park will be FREE for those coming to the Fair.
