The film was based on Mary Webb’s 1917 novel and was shot in Shropshire at locations including: Much Wenlock, Longner Hall, Uffington, Eyton on Severn, Snailbeach, Stiperstones and Pontesford Hill.
This screening is a rare opportunity to see this film and to hear the story behind its making. The film will be introduced by Ian Christie, Ian is a Professor of Film History at Birkbeck College, University of London.
