When explorer Captain Robert Walton rescues Victoria Frankenstein from an ice floe in the Arctic, he uncovers a shocking story. Driven by a passion for science in a world that denies her pursuit, Victoria adopts the male identity of Victor to gain access to university. Her deception is revealed, leading to expulsion, but not before she forms a fateful connection with a tutor whose unorthodox scientific methods ignite a dark obsession—a path from which there can be no return.

From the team that brought you the critically acclaimed open-air tours of The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde, The Hound of the Baskervilles, and Dracula, this brand-new adaptation of Frankenstein promises to thrill modern audiences and delight fans of Shelley’s classic novel. Prepare to be captivated by the intertwined stories of Victoria and the creature she brings to life, a chilling reminder of the consequences of unchecked ambition and the pursuit of knowledge without wisdom.

What the press is saying about British Touring Shakespeare, who have previous brought both of the following shows, and Dracula to Soulton to much acclaim:

The Hound Of The Baskervilles

“The British Touring Shakespeare team have captured the intrigue and the mystery you would expect from a Sherlock 1 Holmes story and made for a most entertaining evening – the game is very much afoot!

“This is a cracking production of a great story, adapted with care and performed with fun and flair.”

The Strange Case Of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde

“The transformations between the two sides of the eponymous character were truly impressive.”

“Paul Winterford’s central performance is pretty riveting. He gives us a deliberately understated Jekyll, tossing a coin and ruminating. The first transformation scene, when it comes – all stage smoke and coloured lighting – meets all gothically dramatic expectations. Winterford writhes, yells, goes into paroxysm and exudes amoral malice and terror.” – London Pub Theatres
