Shrewsbury Secret Artist Sale

The ‘Secret Artist Sale’ will benefit four good causes: Breast Cancer Now, The Samaritans, Trees for Shropshire, and Alzheimer’s Society.

This unique two-day event will be held on Saturday, August 20th, and Sunday, August 21st, as part of the Shrewsbury Arts Trail. It will feature around 100 pieces of original art contributed by international, national, and local artists.

“We are really looking forward to hosting The Secret Art Sale this summer – it’s going to be a lot of fun and an opportunity for people to acquire work by some outstanding artists, such as Halima Cassell MBE, Philip Sutton RA, The Doodle Boy, Matt Sewell, Charlie Adlard and so many more, for an amazing price,” says Jonathan Soden.

All the work will be A5 size, signed on the reverse, and for sale for a standard price of £50. A list of all contributing artists will be published in advance and we will be building interest and excitement as the event approaches.

As part of the Shrewsbury Arts Trail, this year we are holding Shrewsbury’ first ever Secret Artist Sale!

What is a Secret Artist Sale I hear you ask? It’s a charity event raising money for 4 great charities; Breast Cancer Now, The Samaritans, Tress for Shropshire and Alzheimer’s Society. Original art will be available to purchase from some of the UK’s most celebrated artists including Philip Sutton RA for only £50!

Why is it secret? Well all artwork shall be signed on the back and you won’t know who the artist is until you have purchased the artwork! That’s the surprise! Although those with keen eyes might be able to spot the style.

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
