Summer Holidays- Summer of Sport

Head to the Severn Valley Railway for a summer holiday day out to remember. There’s fun for all the family, and you can save up to £64 when you pre-book!

Alongside travelling in incredible heritage carriages behind steam engines, join our summer crew as they host a variety of sports and team activities from Tug of War to a Golf Putt Challenge, and traditional sports day events such as egg and spoon races. Hit the target with archery, and assist our silly hosts as they attempt waterless synchronised swimming, hula hoop surfing and much more.

Go for gold against your family members and celebrate by posing on the winners’ podium.

Our crew will be hosting family challenges at set times throughout the day as well as drop-in sessions for you to try the activities at your leisure.

Ride aboard a heritage train in vintage style as you and your family travel through 150 years of history.

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
