The Great British Staycation - Six Week Holidays Fun on the Severn Valley Railway

You don’t need to head abroad to have fun this summer!

Sunshine, the taste of ice cream, the feel of sand between your toes, the sounds of Punch and Judy, donkeys trotting on the beach and steam train adventures – the Great British Staycation returns to the Severn Valley Railway.

If you’re looking for the perfect day trip this summer, look no further than summer in the Severn Valley. From July 17th to September 5th, there’s so much to do for children of all ages, harking back to summer holidays from years gone by. Start your journey at Kidderminster or Bridgnorth for a full day of family fun and discovery. Smiles guaranteed all round!
Alongside your journey, there’ll be a variety of interactive activities throughout the whole summer at The Engine House, including:
  • A HUGE indoor beach every day
  • Our giant deckchair, perfect for photos
  • FREE Donkey Rides (every Monday starting 2nd August)
  • FREE Punch & Judy Shows (every Wednesday from July 28th, plus Friday 23rd July)
  • FREE Crazy Golf (every Thursday)
  • FREE interactive yellow-coat summer stage shows (every Tuesday from July 27th)
The Engine House will be open throughout the summer you can explore and get up close to marvellous locomotives whilst all our refreshment rooms, shops, picnic areas and play parks will be open.
