Hicks Farm Holidays

Hicks Farm is a quiet livestock farm situated on the borders of the three counties Shropshire, Herefordshire and Powys. Here the beautiful Marches landscape greets you as soon as you step outside the front door.

On the farm you will find Rose Cottage and Orchard House. Both properties are homely and superbly equipped, sleeping 7 and 14 plus cots respectively. Each has its own large private garden, well fenced to provide a safe haven for children and pets alike.

In particular, Orchard House’s ground floor is wheelchair friendly and has a downstairs bedroom suite. Hearing aid users also have the benefit of fitted hearing loops in the ground floor rooms.

Rose Cottage also has a BBQ cabin in its garden. Near the play area there is a much larger one which will accommodate everyone from both properties for inside BBQing or sitting round the glowing charcoals (this one also has a bar area with glassware and crockery for you to create your own Bar).
The larger cabin is just for Orchard House guests when the properties are booked separately!

The properties can be booked individually or together for larger get-togethers or celebrations. As we can sleep up to 21 adults the dining area in Orchard House’s large farmhouse kitchen will seat everyone. To make life easier outside caterers are happy to come and cook for you “at home” – leaving you to relax and enjoy the party!

Our large indoor swimming pool and games room are a real plus for all generations and open all year – a great facility whatever the weather!

Younger visitors can also enjoy the outside play area and sandpit. Buckets and nets in hand we regularly see our guests, of all ages, setting off to delight in the good old-fashioned pastime of “fishing” in the streams as they enjoy “freedom of the farm” during their stay!

We are a working farm so at various times throughout the year you may be lucky enough to bottle feed a lamb, collect fresh eggs or scratch a pig behind the ear – but it is not compulsory!

Please do visit our website where you will find lots of photos, more information about the leisure facilities, the properties and their bedroom layouts.

We feel sure that once you have discovered what we have to offer, you will not need to look any further for your party venue or that special place to stay on holiday.

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
