Explore Black Sheep Barn
Where you can find us
Luxurious and unique, Black Sheep Barn is a two bedroom converted barn nestled in a remote pocket of undiscovered Shropshire countryside close to Ludlow.
Sit by the log burner and enjoy the views out across the Welsh border or step outside and explore miles of wild hillside and forest.
We think it is a special place and we hope you will think so too.
It is suitable for up to 4 people with the rooms designed to suit families or 4 adults equally well. Up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome too.
If have any questions or you would like to bring more than 2 dogs please contact us: [email protected]
You will have the whole of Black Sheep Barn to yourselves. This includes a garden, wooden decking area and two parking spaces.
There is a log burner, underfloor heating and electric radiators to heat the property so you can be sure you will be cosy and warm as you enjoy the view, or read a book or maybe choose a record from the shelf to play on the record player.
Bedrooms
Bedroom one has a timber clad wall, made from timber that once clad the back of the barn. There is a window looking up the hill, king size bed, chair, hanging space and drawers for your clothes. There is a hair dryer too.
Bedroom two also has a window looking up the hill. It has two single beds which can be pushed together to make a super king size bed.
Please let us know in advance if this is the arrangement you would prefer.
There are drawers and hanging space for your clothes.
Living area
Get your slippers on and descend the couple of steps down into the main living area. This consists of dining and lounge areas which open out onto a wooden decking where you might wish to sit and watch the sun set.
The dining area has a table and four chairs. The lounge has two sofas around a wood burning stove, with a Smart TV, record player and hi-fi. The hi-fi has a mini jack lead for you to plug your phone in or you could choose one of the records from the shelf and pop it on the record player.
There are also board games and books for you to borrow too.
Porch/Boot room
Enter through a porch and boot room, with underfloor heating to help dry your muddy boots and water proof jackets after a good exploration of the hill. There is also a washing machine and sink here together with space to dry some washing.
Kitchen, shower room and bedrooms
Climb a few steps to the kitchen, shower room and bedrooms. The kitchen and bathroom have heated floors to warm your feet on a cold winter’s morning.
Kitchen
The kitchen overlooks the living area, making keeping an eye on children easier or chatting with friends whilst you cook. It has all pots, pans and utensils you should need. There is a kettle, toaster, electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge and microwave oven.
Shower room
The shower room has a large, walk in shower with drencher head and standard heads, toilet, basin and heated towel rail. A baby bath is available should this be useful to you.
The building
The whole of Black Sheep Barn including a small outside area is for your sole use. The barn is a timber clad single storey, converted pole barn. As it is on the slope of a gentle slope there are a few steps to get from the living area to the bedrooms, kitchen and shower room.
The barn is adjacent to our house on a small holding with sheep, chickens and vegetable garden. Neither property can be seen from the other and you have plenty of privacy whilst still having an amazing view out over the fields and hills to the horizon.
Interaction with guests
We tend to leave you to your own devices, to enjoy the space and quiet. We are nearby though, should you need anything.
Other things to note
Travel cot, baby bath and high chair are available on request – to make packing the car easier.
