Published on Wednesday July 15th, 2026

Families are invited to enjoy an afternoon of outdoor theatre in the beautiful grounds of Walcot Hall, near Lydbury North, when Cambridge Touring Productions presents The Sword in the Stone on Tuesday 18 August 2026.

Inspired by the much-loved legend of King Arthur, this lively family production promises adventure, comedy and plenty of magical moments as young Arthur discovers that he may be destined for something extraordinary.
The performance will begin at 4pm, with gates opening at 3pm, allowing visitors time to find the perfect spot and enjoy the surroundings before the show begins.
A special children’s theatre workshop will also take place in the Walcot Hall Ballroom at 2.30pm, giving young performers the opportunity to explore the story and take part in drama activities before watching the production.
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own chairs, blankets and picnics for a relaxed afternoon of theatre in the grounds. The performance lasts approximately one hour and 50 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.
