Organiser’s Quote (Kelly Lowe, Business Development Manager) : “Following on from 2023, we took some time out to discuss the feasibility of Alderfest 2024, we wanted more than anything to make it happen but it had to be viable. We are a small family run business and organise this ourselves with a handful of amazing contractors. Putting on the festival comes with a lot of expense (and sleepless nights), we wanted to ensure it was the right decision to go for another year. The absolutely incredible feedback we had from 2023 made our decision much easier, we couldn’t not bring Alderfest back for another year. Having lived in Whitchurch all my life, having the opportunity to organise such a big event here is

a huge honour, seeing the tourism it has brought into the town and the impact is has had for the local businesses is brilliant and something we want to continue for years to come. Roll on 2024!!”

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
