What is the Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade?

A magical Halloween event for all the family to enjoy. See the woods in a whole new light as you enter after dusk and use your Glowing Lantern to guide your way through the woods. Discover curious characters, spot peculiar pumpkins, marvel at magical lights, make jokes with the BeWILDerbats, and lots more. But don’t fret; it’s spooky, not scary!

Please note, this is a wonderful walk through the woods and play structures will not be open during the evening event.

When is it?

The Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade will take place on the 14th – 15th October, then every evening from the 19th – 31st October (including half term) and has scheduled arrival times between 6pm – 7.30pm.

How much are tickets?

Tickets are just £12.50 per person (under 92cm, wheelchair users and carers are freeee!). Plus, when booking tickets to the Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade you’ll also receive a special code for 50% off daytime tickets* to BeWILDerwood Cheshire (between 21st-31st October) too.

How do I book tickets?

Tickets for this special evening event will be available on the BeWILDerwood website from the 8th September at 10am. As always, tickets are limited and must be booked in advance as this is a separate ticketed event. If visitors wish to play in the day (and make the most of your 50% off code) and attend the evening event, they will need to make two separate bookings. Please note, you do not have to do both on the same day – you can play in the day and attend the parade on separate dates in October.

Annual pass holders get 15% off this special event and can book tickets online.

50% off day tickets – how do I get this?

Once you’ve booked your Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade tickets, you’ll receive a special code for 50% off day tickets between 21st – 31st October so you can enjoy running WILD too. Book your daytime tickets online and be sure to bring your parade tickets along too (valid 2023 parade ticket must be shown to qualify for offer). Please note the code will be on your tickets and confirmation email.

Tickets to the Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade are limited, so we recommend booking early to secure your spot. "🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
