The beach is coming! | Dinosaurs are roaming! | The bricks are building!

Bank Holiday weekend in Oswestry promises to be a bonanza of family fun events.

Festival Square is transformed for two days into the only beach in Shropshire! There will be deckchairs, buckets and spades and lots and lots of sand. All you need to bring are the children and maybe some pocket money for ice creams!

Park Hall Countryside Experience is ready for the roar of dinosaurs as their famous Jurassic week gets going. Watch out for Dora, dig for fossils and watch the dinosaur race. Go to visitoswestry.co.uk for a special discount code.

More dinosaurs on Sunday when Booka Bookshop hosts another crafternoon for 3 year olds and older.

Build in bricks is returning to Welshpool and Llanfair railways this weekend end. All things mini bricks include mini figures, build a race car and get building with 10,000 bricks to build with.

Paul Patrol, the movie is on at the Holroyd Theatre.

Don’t miss the Derwen fete and Dog Show or the car boot sale at Llanfyllin Workhouse.

Half term holidays are not just for the kids – here’ s a few more grown up events in Oswestry and the Borderlands.

There’s a wine tour and tasting at Colemere Vineyard on May 26th. Their gardens are open too. How about afternoon tea as you glide along the canal and then cross Pontcysyllte Aqueduct with Llangollen Wharf? Our popular guided tours continue on Saturdays at 11am from Oswestry Tourist information centre (children are welcome too!). Booka has a couple of author events this week and The Holroyd is hosting a Mamma Mia singalong event.

Lots more events – be sure to checkout out our what’s on page on Visit Oswestry. https://www.visitoswestry.co.uk/events-in-oswestry-whats-on/

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
