Friars Cottage is a cosy Victorian Cottage, tucked away in the heart of the historic and vibrant market town of Ludlow with its streets lined with historic timber-framed buildings and castle that dates back to 1085.
You are only a 5-minute walk from the town centre and its quaint back streets, independent shops, and an abundance of restaurants, bars, & cafes to suit all tastes and walks along river Teme.
Mortimer Forest is also on our doorstep, for those wanting to enjoy the outdoors.
The space
Friars Cottage, formally a Mews, is full of character. Access to the cottage is down a set of steps and you enter into the hallway, where there is a tray for muddy boots and into our cosy sitting room with Smart TV, which includes Netflix. The sitting room leads into a fully equipped kitchen/dining room. Off the kitchen is a utility with a downstairs toilet and drying room.
To the rear of the property is a private courtyard garden, which catches the sun, most of the day and is great to enjoy that early morning coffee or late afternoon glass of wine.
Our stairs are reasonably steep and narrow. Upstairs we have a large family bathroom with a bath over the shower.
Bedroom with double bed and storage space and a smaller bedroom to the rear of the property with a small 4ft double bed.
Guest access
The whole of the house and patio area is for guests to enjoy.
Other things to note
Our house does not have parking and is only pedestrian access from Old Street and Friars Garden. For unloading only, you can park on the wide pavement on Old St near the entrance. The long-term Smithfield car park is located on Lower Galdeford just a very short walk away, by the Police station, where you can park for £2.40 per day or £10 for the week. Download the MIpermit APP. We are also just 10 minutes from Ludlow train station if you prefer to travel by train!
Please be aware our stairs are reasonably steep and narrow and the second bedroom bed is a small 4ft double.

Embark on an extraordinary half-term adventure at the enchanting Hawkstone Park Follies! 🌲✨
This hidden gem invites you to explore a sprawling landscape filled with magical surprises. Hawskstone Park Follies are offering 50% off general admission from February 9th to 18th, making it the perfect opportunity to uncover the mysteries that await.
Set in 100 acres of Parkland The Follies is a range of dramatic and rugged natural sandstone hills that were developed to include gullies, caves, towers and bridges, becoming one of the most visited landscapes in Britain during the 19th Century. However, throughout the 20th Century this romantic landscape became forgotten, overgrown and ruinous, unvisited by all but the locals.
Now recognised as a Masterpiece of the School of Naturalistic Landscape and designated as a Grade I listed landscape by English Heritage, this magical and exhilarating landscape had a new lease of life with a multi-million pound restoration project enabling it to reopen to visitors in 1993. Overgrown but never fully forgotten, pathways were cleared, gullies reopened and handrails reinstalled to allow visitors to enjoy the spectacular views and surprises that The Follies reveals around every corner.
Friends of the Follies can also enjoy special annual pass upgrade offers available at the gate, ensuring that the magic doesn`t end after one visit!
