Westhope Country Retreats

Westhope Country Retreats – the perfect place to escape to the country to relax and unwind.

We are a family run business who offer a home from home vibe with our six quality barn conversions to suit any occasion be it birthdays, anniversaries, friend reunions, or just. a quality family get away. Situated in a lovely courtyard setting on our 250-acre farm, on the edge of Westhope village, just six miles from the delightful town of Church Stretton in Shropshire. We offer award winning staycations in our 4 star gold cottages which sleep from 4 to 52 guests. All of these lovely cottages boast their own private hot tubs, private court yard gardens, designated parking spaces alongside shared use of the games room and mini gym, great to while away the hours of an afternoon.

Originally part of a 19th century stable block, our cottages have been sympathetically renovated and furnished to a high standard, boasting original, exposed beams and trusses throughout, yet offering all the comforts of modern living.

Situated at the southern end of Wenlock Edge, the valley is a delightful hideaway with few dwellings, beautiful scenery and a wide range of walks, perfect to set tails wagging with a pet-friendly holiday. The area offers great walking and cycling opportunities and provides a delightful location to relax and unwind.

Discover the Long Mynd hills or medieval Ludlow and Shrewsbury with their wonderful architecture, castles, shops and restaurants. With day trips to the museums at the World Heritage Site at Ironbridge, scenic rides on the Severn Valley Railway, Stokesay Castle, Wroxeter Roman City and many wonderful country houses and gardens, this great location has plenty to offer for all the family to enjoy!

There really is nothing not to love here. We look forward to welcoming you to Westhope Country Retreats!

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
