Hotspur, Shrewsbury

Hotspur is a beautiful relaxing cosy cottage ideally located in the heart of the historic town centre near the majestic English Bridge.  Hotspur is one of Shrewsbury’s best-kept secrets; tucked away in a cobbled gated courtyard off the Wyle Cop; one of Shrewsbury’s ancient streets.

The interiors are bright and airy, on the ground floor there is the living, dining, kitchen, open plan area with a large island/breakfast table, large tv, stove, sofa, and comfy chairs.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one double with a large wardrobe and one single room.

A separate bathroom with bath, and shower is situated beside the main double bedroom, and the ensuite shower room off the single room provides added privacy for the guests.

The mattresses are good quality, the white bed linen and the fluffy white towels are luxurious, and the quiet location of the cottage all make for a good nights sleep!

The cottage is furnished with new contemporary kitchen fittings; electric hob, pyro clean oven, integrated fridge, microwave, dishwasher etc. Also, Hotspur has wifi, so remote working is not a problem! Furnishings are modern and simple complimenting the cottage.

If you feel like eating out arrangements can be made with the neighbouring Lion + pheasant hotel. We recommend making table reservations to avoid disappointment. Reservations can be made for breakfast for breakfast, lunch or dinner, or at the hotels new bar, Ernest & Co wine bar, which serves tapas dishes and sharing boards. 01743770345.

Car parking is available very close by, there’s usually always available spaces at the NCP carpark a few yards away and the rates are very reasonable.

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
