The Stables - Shrewsbury

Stables is a gorgeous spacious mews house built on the former stables of the Lion and pheasant hotel, echoing the original stables with a stunning first floor vaulted living, dining room. The unique continuous rooflight creates a living room full of daylight and sunshine, and the double doors with Juliette balcony open up to bring the outside inside! There are solid oak floorboards and rugs throughout the first floor and the furniture is relaxing and comfortable.

The kitchen is well equipped with good quality fittings including microwave integrated fridge , dishwasher etc, and free Wifi is included.

The two double bedrooms on the raised ground floor each have their own en-suite bathrooms providing privacy and comfort for the guests. Furniture is contemporary and the bathroom fittings are all modern design. White bed linen, towels, and mattresses are all top quality. The tiled floors in the bedrooms have underfloor heating to give added warmth in the winter months.

The location of the stables is perfect for river walks and its close proximity to the beautiful Quarry  Park and to the independent shops on the Wyle Cop.

Bookings can be made for breakfast with the Lion and pheasant hotel, please ask when checking in.

If you would like a night free from cooking we recommend reserving tables in advance for dinner to avoid disappointment, there’ s lots of choice besides the Stables including Ernest & Co wine bar for Tapas and sharing boards. Tel 01743770345

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
