A Very Mad Royal Tea Party - Shrewsbury Castle

A performance by ReachOut Theatre Company Enter a fantastical world inhabited by curious characters this summer at Shrewsbury Castle.

Sit back and enjoy a stunning performance inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland stories – performed by ReachOut Theatre Company.

Join Alice and her new friends at a very mad tea party to celebrate the Kings coronation year! When the Mad Hatter decides he would like to host a very special tea party and invite the King of England, he sends the White Rabbit off on a delivery – with the March Hare, Alice, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum involved, it certainly doesn’t go to plan and the invitation falls into the hands of the wrong Royal!

Will it be ‘Off With Their Heads’ or will they get to meet the King of England after all?

Shunning a traditional stage, characters from the play will move freely across the lawns of Shrewsbury Castle throughout the play in a move that is sure to delight lovers of outdoor theatre.

There are performances at 11.00am and 2pm on Thursday 31st August. Each performance lasts around 40 minutes and there will be a short meet and greet beforehand.

Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
