Ludlow Fringe is launching its 10th anniversary festival by bringing Carnival back to Ludlow. Come and see a cacophony of colour and sound wend its way through the medieval streets. We are celebrating ‘Our Beautiful Earth’ with this people powered parade.
You’ll see a giant kingfisher, a huge heron (named Horatio), a hydrogen car and lots of children proudly carrying the bird and insect puppets they’ve been working hard on over the last few months. There will be Music Tots, Samba drummers, local businesses and charities all coming together – and ‘Queen Victoria’ will be here to judge them all. Competition categories include: ‘best decorated pram’, ‘best walking float’ and ‘best individual costume’ – lets hope they make her smile!
A community garden installation will be on the Events Square along with ‘The Flutter’; an arch of handmade butterflies with their maker who can help you to ‘Interview a Pollinator’ and learn all about these important bugs. There will be pizza and ice creams for sale, live music from local musicians and the Ludlow Concert Band playing from the beautiful Castle Gardens.
- Music and fun in Events Square from 11am
- Carnival parade starts at 2.30pm at Ludlow Brewery and will finish in Events Square with judging from Queen Victoria at 3.30pm.
