Come and see our brand- new mixed media exhibition, Explore the mysteries of space through the medium of art. Enjoy intergalactic travel in Broseley within a stone’s-throw of Iron Bridge – and in comfort!
Subject of one of the artworks, the star Betelgeuse is so vast that if it replaced our sun, it would swallow Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars. To get technical for a moment, Betelgeuse is a red supergiant of spectral type M1-2; it will probably explode as a supernova in the next 100,000 years or so. For the rest of us it’s the bright reddish top-left star in the constellation of Orion. Fortunately for us, Ann sticks to an artist’s view.
When a leading scientist tells us that we know 5% or 10% of what there is to know about the universe and our place in it. It leaves a bit of a void. Let’s leave it to the artist to do the explaining and save ourselves the rigours of philosophy and science.
Ann Fraser has the imagination to do just that. Let her lead you on an exciting and colourful tour of the Cosmos! Travel from Betelgeuse (and Beetle-juice really is one of the four approved pronunciations) to the Tarantula Nebula and on to the Witch’s Cauldron and the Cat’s Eye Nebula.
