Shire Folk Music @ Ludlow Distillery: Daudi Matsiko

The incredibly talented British-Ugandan folk singer-songwriter, Daudi Matsiko, will be performing at Ludlow Distillery as part of the Shire Folk Music tour on Thursday 9 May.

Doors (and very importantly, the bar) open at 7pm with live music starting at 8pm. We hope to see you there! Tickets priced £10 can be purchased from: www.shirefolk.co.uk

Daudi carefully crafts modern albeit reverent folk. Deft, melancholic picking is tempered by contemporary percussion and instrumentation. Matsiko’s vocals derive their strength from their seeming fragility. With every song, his confessional lyrics cut to the marrow.

‘Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!’ Gilles Paterson, BBC Radio 6 Music

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
