Explore the fantastic Severn Valley Railway as you start your journey in Bridgnorth and spend a day exploring Shropshire and Worcestershire hauled by a vintage steam-train, many of which are over 100 years old.

There’s something for everyone – whether you want an end-to-end steam train journey or want to hop on and off the train, exploring each station and the surrounding areas at your leisure. Whatever the weather, you’ll be amazed with the beauty, fun and opportunities to adventure on the Severn Valley Railway.

Each visit includes FREE entry to the Severn Valley Railway’s fantastic visitor centre, The Engine House, giving you the opportunity to get up close to a fantastic selection of locomotives, stand aboard the footplate of Hinton Manor and discover the hidden histories of the SVR and Britain’s railways.

In October, December and January, the timetable will operate with a three-train service on selected dates:

  • October 9, 10, 16, 17, 23-31.

"🏰✨ Dive into the heart of Shrewsbury's Castle Quarter – the epicenter of history and grandeur! 🏰 Home to four of the town's largest historic treasures – Shrewsbury Castle, Library, Prison, and Train Station.

Did you know Shrewsbury Castle's foundations were laid in 1083 by the 1st Earl of Shrewsbury, Roger de Montgomery?
Montgomery, a cousin of William the Conqueror, earned this castle and more as a thank-you for his aid during the Norman conquest.

From royal stronghold to a 16th-century transformation, Shrewsbury Castle has quite the story. Now, it stands majestically, housing the Shropshire Regimental Museum. 👑🏰 Ready to step into the pages of history?
